Let’s start at the beginning. What is artificial grass, sometimes also referred to as artificial turf or fake grass?

Artificial grass is made using manmade fibres and yarns that are permanently dyed and trimmed to look like the real thing. It first came onto the market back in the 1960s but has recently seen a surge in popularity due to its lifelike look, low maintenance requirements and quality finish. It really can transform the look of your garden.

Since those early days and in keeping with the advancements in technological know-how, artificial grass has undergone developments that have seen it become progressively more realistic in its appearance. Today, at first glance, it is virtually indiscernible from natural grass. It is now used in many sports arenas and stadiums, and in residential areas and commercial gardens all over the world – especially where the growth and maintenance of real grass have proven difficult.
